Handel’s Messiah

Again this season, on Sunday November 23, Spiritus will present ‘A Candlelight Messiah.’ There are many ways to perform Handel’s masterpiece. Our approach is to try to make this an experience that combines beauty, drama, majesty and intimacy. St. John the Evangelist Church has a small sanctuary compared to other downtown churches, beautiful wood carving, and wonderful acoustics that allow individual lines and details to be heard. Our last performance of Messiah was almost sold out, and seating is limited to about 250 people. Tickets ($45, 20, 10) available soon.
